The Artists
Here you will find information about the great artists/musicians who helped create the wonderful music of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi! Remember to visit our Multimedia section for downloads! In order of whose songs were exposed first in the anime:
Porno Graffiti with Melissa
A trio consisting of a vocalist (Akihito), a bassist (Tama), and a guitarist (Haruichi). Their first album was "Apollo" (1999) and their fourth album "Worldillia" was their first to hit the #1 spot on the Oricon (a Japanese Billboard equivalent). Tama left the band "to further investigate [his] self." Their music is generally categorized under rock, and somewhat-pop, since it is usually upbeat and catchy.

Nana Kitade with Kesenai Tsumi
I personally love her two pieces "Kesenai Tsumi" and "Pureness." She was born in 1987, making her about my age (17! gah!), and she's very successful especially because of the song she sung for FMA (go Hagane!). I would suggest looking up any other info about her, more overly her music, there isn't much to say except she is a rare Hokkaido O-type graduate XD

L'Arc~en~Ciel with Ready Steady Go
This group is, by far, the most famous of all of the FMA musicians. This band consists of four people: Hyde, Ken, Tetsu, and Yukihiro. It was started in 1991 by Tetsu and hence he is the leader. The name is cool, ne? Well, it was a french movie that Tetsu liked which means "Arc in the Sky," or "Rainbow." The band had to deal with many problems, like people leaving the band and substitutes and such. L'Arc~en~Ciel is very popular, and I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in J-pop/J-rock.

YeLLOW Generation with Tobira no Mukou e
A three member band who released their first single "LOST Generation" in 2002, and their only album "CARPE DIEM." In 2003, most recently, they released "Yozora ni Sakuhana- eternal place." Their music tends to be very unique in its dynamics, especially its form.

Cool Joke with Undo
It took me forever to find ANY info on this band (maybe because of its name). But I believe that they are executing the tour nationwide accompanying their CD and DVD. Their music holds what people call a "British-beat." I personally found this song one of my least favorites because I like very fast tempo music, while this piece is very slow. So I am guessing the rest of their music is this way, check it out for yourself.

Crystal Kay with Motherland
A solo female singer who is half-black, half-korean, and it shows! She first appeared on TV CF and started gaining fans through what she sang there. Finally, Epic Records contracted with her in fall in 1998 and she made her single debut "Eternal Memories" in July 1999. She has to be one of the most youngest english-fluent in Japan (born in 1986). She reminds me of Japan's version of Mariah Carey ^^

Asian Kung-fu Generation with Rewrite
A full-throttle rock-band who have can either be abbreviated with AKFG or just "Ajikan" (since Asian Kung can be pronounced this way in Japan). The band consists of four artists: Yamada, Gotoh, Ijichi, and Kita. The band is very thrash-sh, and I guess that is what helps emphasize the coolness of FMA =D I especially like their album art created by Yusuke Nakamura.

Sowelu with I Will
Sowelu means "Sun" in the lunar letters used in ancient Ireland (I find this quite cool actually). She is very energetic and has a very powerful voice much like our Hip Hop singers. She has released many singles like "Beautiful Dreamer" and "Geofu." She is also one of our younger K-Pop/J-pop singers and has many fans even now.
