b>Kurosaki Ichigo may seem your average 15-year-old orange-haired high school student. But then again, he's not. Ichigo has been able to see and talk to ghosts since he can remember. His mother died when he was 9 years old, so he lives with his father, Isshin (who's the local clinic's doctor), and his two little sisters, Karin and Yuzu.

One day, a shinigami named Kuchiki Rukia appears before him and thus Ichigo's life takes a u-turn he did not expect. He finds himself talking half of Rukia's shinigami powers in order to save his family. However, things don't go as expected, and Ichigo (without noticing) takes all of Rukia's powers for himself.

It's at that precise moment when Ichigo and Rukia's alliance begins. He must become a shinigami in order to fight soul-eating beings called hollows, while she aides him in that mission... staying in the human world and waiting for her powers to return.

Theirs is not an easy relationship, since both Ichigo and Rukia have very strong characters, and are not people who tend to open up to others. But either way, they soon become friends... and establish a strong bond, which makes them care deeply for each other and always look after the other .

The feeling of trust and understanding they irradiate is enough for me to support this couple. And even though you don't see their feelings as romatic ones, there's no use in denying Ichigo and Rukia's extraordinary and meaningful connection.
